“I’m proud of the relationships I’ve learned to nurture with my family, both given and chosen. With support and love from my Minneapolis communities, I feel proud to be able to prune and grow with others. I am proud of the stories I tell through food and the connection we feel when everyone helps to prepare a meal or clean up the dishes. The tangibility and care that can come of a community dinner with people you love is one of my favorite things in the world. My friends and family, of all gender identities, have shown me that softness and gentleness are attributes to be proud of.”
