"When people meet me, they know two things off the rip: 1) I’m happy 2) I’m gay. And I’m super proud of both of these things about me.

I’ve known I was different for a long time. In elementary school, kids knew I was gay before I did—I loved Polly Pockets, I loved flower stickers, I loved putting a t-shirt on top of my head and flipping it around like I had long hair. In middle school I realized that, yeah, I was gay, that’s it. Ever since, I’ve never tried to hide it—there’s no reason to. I’m proud of who I am and for never trying to hide it from myself or anyone."
